Who doesn’t love Havaianas? They seem to be the only “cool” flip-flops these days, and great for the whole family, from tots to mom snobs during their off-time. Everyone in this house wears them (almost a bit too often, thanks to the laid-back, comfort-loving culture of LA!). By ritual and necessity, summertime means new flip-flops for everybody. Yes, please throw them away after a year of use; absorbent rubber just gets gross (especially Dad’s smelly pair!).
First came the more dressed-up metallic, thin-strapped versions, then the World Cup soccer-themed collection of last summer. Now Havaianas has come out with a whole new range of dynamic superhero-themed designs for boys that are so fun and exciting, you know your boy will go bonkers for them. He can choose among Superman with his puppy, Krypto, the Flash, Batman, and a dragon motif on a glow-in-the-dark sole. And even a pair with sling-back straps for the kid who hasn’t quite mastered the thong.
The girls’ selection, although cute, is nothing out of the ordinary – your typical floating fairy and twirling ballerina. Then again, little girls aren’t known for their edgy and unique views on fashion. It just seems like they will be into ballerinas and fairies forever. Which they won’t be (hopefully), so let’s embrace it!
