Ah, the snakeskin clutch! As with any ubiquitous item it can be a tough feat to find a real standout. This R&Y Augousti python clutch is just that, and at a very attractive price: only $460 (the best part of this line might just be their prices!). Lesser known labels are often the way to go when you’re aiming for originality, and the Parisian brand, designed by couple Ria and Yiouri, are originally famed for their vintage-inspired interior designs.
They’ve recently channeled their aesthetic into bags and the results are strong, versatile, and utterly wearable. Sandy beige python is perfect for summer, but it still has enough umbra to be used year-round. The best of both worlds: a color that pops against black but is subtle against brights. I love how the python’s super-organic scales give this little clutch such incredible, mega-watt texture. And I’m especially fond of the Art Deco-inspired jewel hardware – it’s reminiscent of an enlarged wrist cuff. Although R&Y Augousti bags are not as tight and stiff as some(in terms of quality), considering the price I don’t mind the slight bohemian feel. Sometimes rustic equals more modern, anyway.
