Biker Boots: You Can Keep the Girl Off the Bike, But Can You Keep the Bike Off the Girl?

I’ve never been much of a biker babe – although the thought of cruising around Los Angeles on a super-slick Ducati does sound pretty cool, if only a total fantasy – and I don’t think most Jimmy Choo-wearers have, either! Now it looks like the motorcycle boot is going upscale (sure, Frye and Fiorentini + Baker have done it, but those names still have strictly utilitarian connotation), so the question is, are we snobs following? Jimmy Choo’s “Youth” boot is made with extra-soft, slightly crinkled leather and has the luxe twist of gold hardware (complete with plaque on the heel so they don’t forget you’re sporting Choos). Chloé does the their moto boot with the brand’s signature low-slung ankle strap, to add movement and bounce to your swagger. Extra flair comes in the form of a surprise patent heel – hey, might as well shine as you stomp. And Belstaff’s have a slightly more tapered, almost riding boot kind of feel to them.

I have to say, they all look so comfy they might have me going “biker,” even if the closest I get to a Triumph is riding in the sidecar! So is this a style you’ll toughen up for or just tough out?
