Oliver Ifergan Day at the Beach and Dry Shampoo

I brought Oliver Ifergan‘s Day at the Beach and Dry Shampoo with me on my Miami trip. I received both as a sample and though I rarely use dry shampoo I figured with the heat I might be inclined to. Plus, Ifergan has a salon in Beverly Hills where his clients include none other than TOM FORD….and we all know how discerning Mr. Ford is!

Though the temperatures weren’t as bad as I thought — high 80s — I still felt like I wanted to shower and wash my hair about 4 or 5 times a day! The Dry Shampoo ($27) is a volumizer, which I normally don’t want since I like for my hair to be smooth and straight, but when you’re sweaty and gross it’s pretty much exactly what you need to look presentable. My days in Miami were back-to-back with activities because I was only there for four days so the spray was ideal to go from say spa’ing at The Mandarin Oriental, to shopping on Collins (literally even though I showered after my treatment at The Mandarin, my face had melted off by the time I got back to South Beach’s main strip). The Dry Shampoo also proved useful after my quick workout at Canyon Ranch because I didn’t have time to shower before heading back to my parents’ apartment. Just flip your hair upside down, spray the dry shampoo and massage it into you scalp and it will help get rid of excess oil and give you a quickie, refreshed feel.

The Day at the Beach Spray ($27) is infused with salt to mimic “the beach hair look” and can be used wet or dry to tame frizz. This would be a great product to use for anyone looking to create a textured hair look this summer (just spray it on the ends and work the spray with your hands to get the texture you’re looking for). Again, not really my thing, but I sprayed it on my damp hair after showering and didn’t have frizz issues while I was there plus it doesn’t leave any nasty residual stickiness. Between these products and the fact that Tom Ford is a fan, I’m thinking my next trip should be to Beverly Hills so that I can check-out the Oliver Ifergan salon!
