Dries Van Noten Snake-Printed Ankle Boots: Give These the Green Light

icon

If you’ve already stocked up on your neutral staple of black or brown ankle boots (thank you, Costume National, Alexandre Birman, Acne, and Nicholas Kirkwood), then two things. Number one, odds are they are looking rather boring now that you’ve met this pair of green python boots, and number two, it’s now time to decide whether you’re going to go big or go home. Clearly, if you embrace these Dries Van Noten numbers, you are planning on going big – and you’re my kind of girl!

Mint python boots: there is nothing more exciting. A lacquered wooden heel (standing a perfectly easy 3.5” in height) adds to the double take. These are something out of my dream jungle. Needless to say, transfixing boots like these aren’t for the faint of heart. These are for the snob who would wrangle an anaconda to get her hands on the boots she covets – boldness reigns here. So in the spirit of embracing your audaciously confident side, don’t even think about wearing these with a pair of boot-cut pants. Pair them with a dress, please – anything to keep from covering these up. On My Theresaicon for $695.

Pair with: Go gutsy without going crazy. An embellished cutout silk and cotton-blend shift dress by 3.1 Phillip Lim is the way to go. The mini length and muted taupe color puts emphasis on the boots and the braded blue and pink collar gives a nod to your eye for fierce color. On Net-a-Porter for $375.
