Snob Essentials

Part II: Notable NYFW Beauty Looks

New York Fashion Week is getting into its groove and to that end, check-out some of the stand-out beauty looks we’ve seen thus far. Are you excited about any of the hair and makeup trends that are starting to emerge?

  • Rose gold hair at Peter Som: I never thought I’d find appeal in odd-ball hair colors, but I think the rose gold hair pieces worn by Som’s models could actually translate well from runway to “real life.”
  • Matchy-matchy hair at Kimberly Ovitz: I’m a huge fan of Ovitz, but between the shoes, the dress, and the hair, I’m seeing way too many citrus colors. I think the long hair with the orange strands takes away from the dress.
  • Slicked back hair at Cushnie et Ochs: Blame the rain and humid weather that was forecast for this week, but slicked back hair is an emerging trend thus far and Cushnie et Ochs did a spot-on job.
  • Muted makeup at Fenton: Given the bold jewelry that Fenton designer Dana Lorenz was presenting, this pale makeup look, complete with nude lips, was spot on.
  • Grace Kelly chic meets ’90-punk at Jason Wu: That’s how Odile Gilbert who worked on this hair look, using Kérastase products, described it. Doesn’t it look fantastic?
