Tom Ford Violet Blonde

Tom Ford is a genius. Everything new, beauty-wise, that he does is better than the last and I can barely contain my excitement about the launch of his makeup collection in November. One of his latest fragrance launches is Violet Blonde ($100 for 50ml) and it’s in one word, divine. So divine in fact that it just launched a few days ago and is already sold out online at Saks (at least the last time I checked)! It’s a Saks exclusive so head to your nearest store and snap it up before it’s impossible to get (remember what happened with his lipsticks….there were a number of shades that were impossible to get just days after they hit stores).

Violet Blonde is a very powerful scent. In fact, picture the most floral, feminine scent you can and then think of the complete opposite. It’s aggressive, even though it’s based on violet and iris, and you can tell from the rich sensation you get when you wear it that it’s been formulated with high quality ingredients (and I’ve confirmed this with a friend who is a trained nose and works at IFF). Unlike most scents that dissipate after a few minutes (or seconds even!), this one lingers. Literally I can still smell it even if it has been an hour since I last spritzed it. If you’re looking for an invigorating scent that smells like no other, you’ll likely love Violet Blonde as much as I do.

As for the packaging? Specular. A perfect balance of understated refinement and a touch of flash, but then again when is anything from Tom Ford Beauty anything but?
