Frugal Snob: UK Brand, I Love…Cosmetics, Comes to the US

I don’t tend to like knock-offs and I Love…Cosmetics was clearly inspired by Philosophy, but I still can’t help loving the line…look at the colors! The taglines! The packaging!

The UK brand just recently expanded into the US and is now available at Duane Reade and Wal-Mart stores here in NYC. I was sent the above gift set as well as a scrub — both of which are under $10 — and I mean…how can you argue with their cute-ness, especially given their prices! $9.99 for six 3.4 oz bottles! Full size (16.9 oz) body washes go for $7.99 and so do the brand’s body butters, body lotions, and exfoliators; their hand creams are priced at $5.99 and scents include Blueberry & Smoothie, Coconut & Cream, Lemons & Limes, Vanilla & Ice Cream, and Strawberries & Milkshake. Given that by the end of this year I Love…Cosmetics is slated to hit Lewis Drugs, CVS, and drugstore.com among other mass retailers and, come early 2012, an additional 5,200 doors, expect to see this brand EVERYWHERE in a few months.

If you go on their website there are a bunch of products (face masks, lip glosses, gift sets…), that are not yet available in the US as well as a few scents we don’t yet have either so stock up if you’re heading to Canada or Europe because aside from Nip + Fab, this is in my opinion the best new drugstore find of 2011!

  1. Shopping at Walmart with my son to grab his goodies , spotted these in the shower gel section and told myself WOW Walmart sells Phylosophy now!! They smell just as delicious as the Phylosophy gel that’s sitting in my shower !! I have the blackberry raspberry and mango $7 a bottle 16 oz. so happy that I have found a replacement for my over priced but beloved Phylosophy . I loved Phylosophy simply for the delicious scents so highly aromatic but now ILoveCosmetics USA completely replaced Phylosophy in my book! $7. $7. A 16oz bottle.
