Sarah Jessica Parker in Manolo Blahnik: The Ladylike Pump, Redux

I saw it coming a mile away: the return of the pointy pump! Manolo Blahnik’s bright star might have dimmed just a bit over the past few years, what with the undeniably tempting rise of the hefty, heightening platform, but it looks like the sharp, ladylike shoe is back. What makes the return official? Why, Sarah Jessica wearing it, of course. SJP ceaselessly has her toe on the pulse of style, and she donned a pair of sleek, taupe-gold satin Manolos at the premiere of “New Year’s Eve” on December 7th in New York City.

Worn with her trademark effortless, a mélange of a Pauline Trigere dress, Fenton and Fred Leighton jewels (love a high-low mix!), and tumbling locks, the pumps nearly stole the show just because they simply are not trying to be anything but classic and feminine. Let’s not forget that Manolo was a Carrie Bradshaw-favorite. Looks like old habits die hard. The spiked heel is here, and this time its making a real point.

Go from high-shine satin to soft matte suede with this gray variation. Manolo’s BB pump in soft dolphin gray is sure to get lots of wear.

At Barneys New York for $595.
