Best of Pre-Fall 2012: Structural Delights

Just before the big shows, Pre-Fall pops up like a nice fashion appetizer, just enough to satiate you for the moment and whet your palette for more! This pre-season, it’s all about structure.
With a nod to club-hopping France in the late-eighties, Balenciaga gives us sharp lines and a refined design. The details are rich yet nuanced – not a fringy zipper-pull in sight! Burberry, on the other hand, infuses femme 1930s references, and counters them with a bold, assertive clutch. Reed Krakoff delivers a deluxe duffel, a big day bag or small weekender that packs as much finesse as it does cool masculinity, while Barbara Bui’s dark, sumptuously tailored silhouettes got a needed color jolt via a hot-pink shoulder style.
Inspired by a trip to the Himalayas, Proenza Schouler serving up their coveted designs in iguana leather! Oh my god, start saving now! With razor-sharp lines, we find gorgeous structured beauty at Gucci, through an attaché-inspired top-handle that’s got ladylike flair.
P.S. I’ll be live blogging Gucci Men’s show on Monday here: http://www.gucciconnect.com/live. Be sure to check it out!
