Kristen Bell in Christian Louboutin: Red Carpet, Red Soles

In theory, it’s so cliché: you’re hitting the red carpet, so you strap on a pair of Christian Louboutins. No-brainer, right? Well, there’s a reason about every starlet on the right side of the Hollywood strip does it (save for a few who favor Atwood instead) and it’s because the right pair of Loubies are likely to make, not break, a look.

Check out Kristen Bell at the premiere of her (supposedly quite racy) new Showtime series, “House of Lies.” Her sparkling Zuhair Murad mini-dress – intricately hand-beaded and skater-inspired, it came off the Fall 2011 runway – is the sort of ornate piece that fits in better on the catwalk. Thankfully, Kristen’s Louboutin Boulima Exclusive d’Orsay pumps, the perfect mix of funky and classy, ground the dress and save the day.

The camel-colored cocktail of suede, canvas, and leather, kissed off with a strong metal-grid cap-toe, pull it all together. Even better, they show Kristen isn’t afraid of a bold, don’t-mess-with-me heel. And best of all, they are now on sale! At Bergdorf Goodmanicon for $447 (from $995).

Pair with: Switch it up and wear these pumps with something sharp, geometric, and so not sparkly. Dion Lee’s tulle and georgette dress is also off the runway – an impossibly chic head-turner. On Net-a-Porter for $1,950.
