Lanvin Enameled Clutches: State-of-the-Art Deco

Art Deco motifs lit up the spring runways of Gucci, Alberta Ferretti, Etro, and Christian Dior, but put Alber Elbaz in a twenties state of mind and the results are game-changing. Lanvin’s latest clutches take the idea of the “jeweled” evening bag to new heights of chic.

Their spectacular black minaudiere might have been snatched right out of a prized vintage collection, save for the fresh, modern overtone. Its razor-sharp lines and high-gloss boxiness feel totally 21st century, and so does the chunky chain wristlet (who needs a bangle when your clutch looks this good on your wrist?!). Clean, not stark, anthracite enamel is the ideal canvas for an eye-catching, crystal-clustered cross.

In bright red, there’s no embellishment, but honestly, does cherry enamel need enhancement? If the minimalist look is more your speed, check out the selection of two-tone minaudieres at Lanvin for $2,390. I, for one, can’t wait to bear my cross!

Jeweled Evening Minaudiere Available for pre-order at Bergdorf Goodmanicon for $3,990 (to ship by April 9th).

Pair with: Do a jovial play on “prim and proper” with Miu Miu’s cady cropped jacket. The detachable white collar is adorned in light crystals and pearls, so you’ll feel dressed to the nines but not overdone. On Net-a-Porter for $1,950.
