Tod’s Passante Patta Media Bag: A Safe Bet

Not all comment-worthy bags are embellished stunners or eye-catching showstoppers. Sometimes a classic girl needs an everyday bag – and here it is. This shoulder-to-top-handle bag is what you would expect from Tod’s these days: a nice basic, even if it’s not breaking any boundaries.

Over recent seasons, my love for Tod’s has waned, mainly because they lost track of that “free-spirited girl on the move” vibe and veered more towards the suburbia-ruling mom who goes nowhere (you know the type who won’t venture out of her zip code). I’m even more worried now that Derek Lam has left the label.

Those in the market for a practical, trend-free day bag (with its conservative feel, this beige leather might look cool slightly worn and scuffed up), have at it. You know Tod’s quality hasn’t gone anywhere. But the brand itself should go exploring; some self-discovery is key cuz they’re in a bit of a funk. At Saks Fifth Avenue for $1,665.

Pair with: Imbue a sense of vintage seventies funk with Rochas bodacious platform sandals. Six and half inches of textured leather will no doubt energize this simplistic bag. On Net-a-Porter for $850.
