Ultimate Conditioning: Getting Out of a Hairy Situation

After months upon months of constant styling, my hair is not only tired from abuse, it’s loaded up with layers of product. When I realized the state of my strands, did I lay off and give them a break? Nope! But my hair did need help and after more deep conditioning, I felt like I had only added to the problem.

I had a premiere to go to on Monday, so I couldn’t just leave my hair as it was (I mean, my boyfriend Ewan McGregor was going to be there for Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, which by the way, is fantastic!). It was time to start over and rejuvenate. First, I washed it with my trusty ABBA Pure Detox shampoo, which got my hair back to its natural state: bare, clean, and free of buildup. Even though the shampoo is gentle, this is a true detox, freeing my hair of everything I have piled on it. It also prepped it to take in a deep conditioner.

The one that always gets my hair to its optimal softness and body is Neutrogena’s Triple Moisture Deep recovery mask. Cheap and effective – enough said.

My hair was primed and ready to take on more styling yet again, which of course, was courtesy of my new obsession, the amazing Beachwaver by Sarah Potempa. Achieving those natural, bouncy waves I love so much requires hair that is healthy, shiny and not weighed down. Mission accomplished.
