Gucci 1970 Tassel Hobo: This Has My Name On It

icon

Originally, I loved this bag in black – and I don’t even like black bags. So in my color, Kelly green, it is a must-must have. Like someone messenger it to me now because I’m too lazy to drive, and I can’t wait for FedEx.

Hobos don’t get much more classic than this. You know it’s not going to go out of style – no trends here, just good, old-fashioned, quintessential Gucci. Chain-straps never fail to make me sigh with irritation, but this strap was well thought out. They inserted a leather pad beneath the chain for shoulder comfort, so I can stop complaining.

You’d think I would prefer the python, but this retro style requires purist simplicity. Well, simplicity along with a bright pop of color, of course. I don’t mind the linen lining; I actually really love it contrasted against lush green, and it dresses down the gold details. But can’t Gucci do us a favor and knock off a few bucks for the cheaper lining? At Neiman Marcusicon for $2,190.

Pair with: This bag packs enough color for all of my accessories. A pair of neutral espadrilles, like these topstitched Michael Kors wedges, will do justice to Kelly green leather. Michael Kors Leather Espadrille Wedge Sandals, $995.

  1. This bag is simply beautiful….it was in Nordstrom last week… I hesitated and it was gone when I went back. I could just kick myself, but I had just purchased a YSL Cabas Chyc bag a couple months ago so I was hesitating to spend that kind of money again so quickly…I should have just bought the bag.
