Jason Wu Weekender Satchel: Everybody’s Waiting for the Weekend

One of the signs of a good designer: he knows just when to stop embellishing. Jason Wu possesses the subtle sensibility to know that the slightest detail can do it all. It’s no surprise he had a stint interning for master-minimalist of seasons past, Narciso Rodriguez. Clearly, Jason took the value of concise editing to heart. The slight detail that wins it here: a splash of red trim on a simply shaped weekender, a spirited touch that packs a punch in boldness.

I can say this because I’m Taiwanese: his light touch is so not Taiwanese. Everyone in my family wants so much shit on their bags, and they think it’s boring if it borderlines on sophistication. Just saying! Maybe it’s just my family.

This is a big bag, so you can’t just carry it around with you comfortably when you’re out and about. But for work, the gym and, of course travel, this is perfect. I know I’ll get made fun of for saying this is a great baby-bag alternatives but I haven’t said it in a while and seriously, this is a great baby-bag alternative! At Bergdorf Goodman for $1,895.

Pair with: If you still demand more jazz to your bag, bring it courtesy of a printed pouch. Reed Krakoff’s Atlantique printed canvas pouch with help you stay organize and imbue an artistic pattern. On Net-a-Porter for $320.

  1. I am in love with this bag! Too bad it’s not sold anywhere anymore. I know I’m suuuuuuper late to the game, but any tips on snagging bags from seasons past? Of course there’s eBay, but if you guys have any other tips for finding older bags, please let me know!
