Versus Vinyl and Leather Clutch: C’mon, Be a Sport

This is exactly what you take surfing if you need a clutch…Actually, in all seriousness, there is, in fact, a need for such a sporty clutch. Sure, water-resistent vinyl and a plastic buckle sounds like a recipe for something you chuck in your camping tent, but this is a different kind of camp altogether.

Who says you need to be all dressed up to necessitate a clutch? Like if I’m in shorts and flip-flops and going out for the night (in Hawaii, let’s say) and I don’t want to carry a big bag. Okay, the utility buckle takes this Versus bag a little too far. With a slightly more refined closure, this makes for viable choice in less laid-back cultures, too.

I appreciate the interior – it’s like a mini-accordion file, with zippers for full-on organization. It’s the price that does me in. If it were around $200, this would be a fun piece to have. On the upside, this looks like a prime candidate for final reduction sale, so I’ll just wait to get sporty. On Net-a-Porter for $650.

Pair with: Swimsuit designer Lisa Marie Fernandez is known for her sleek take on scuba style. Her foray into dresses is refined this season – the nylon Hanneli dress belongs on the boardwalk and the sidewalk. At Barneys New York for $505.
