Acne Ralston Mini Briefcase: Excess Baggage?

icon

Anything miniature is automatically super-adorable, including a suitcase. Harking back to the old-timey railroad, this cute concept beckons you to hop aboard, but I’m not sure how useful this bag will be in real life.

Swedish brand Acne’s designs have an inherent hipness (the name is actually an acronym for “ambition to create novel expressions”), so their offbeat take on the steamer trunk is pretty cool– the contrasting-tone straps give the look some refinement so it isn’t too literal. It’s so vintage, it’s modern. At 10” wide, this baby briefcase is a fine size for daily essentials, but alas, it would likely look best displayed on a bookshelf. Just like I would never really use a steamer trunk to travel with (even though I love the idea of it), I would never use this as a bag. What’s your take on the little piece of luggage? At Browns Fashionicon for $963 (£595).

  1. The size 10×7 inches is miniature and you’d have to be super-organized to use this as anything but a purse. Like the mismatched straps and the rich colors of this bag.

  2. If this bag was larger, it would make a great briefcase. Great colors. I’d carry it every day. Any chance the company might make a larger version?
