The Celine Luggage Tote: What Makes A Legend

Unstoppable. Ubiquitous, without feeling tired. Soon-to-be iconic. These are the most accurate ways to describe the Celine Luggage tote. Released too long ago (back in 2010) to still be in the “trend” zone, this bag, as determined as it is covetable, knows no bounds. If you ask me – and pretty much any celebrity in the Western Hemisphere (and beyond!), the style has, in a way, never looked fresher. Especially now that we are enjoying the Luggage in every shade and texture Celine can dream up: lush verdant-green suede as seen on Rosie Huntington-Whitely, Miley Cyrus‘ juicy citrus-yellow, pure white a la Dakota Fanning, neutral two-tones carried by Leighton Meester, Reese Witherspoon, and Nicole Richie, and yes, even subdued beige, courtesy of Oprah Winfrey! It’s official. It has passed the test of a timeless bag, earning itself a spot near the ranks of true icons. Whether worn casual or polished, the Luggage tote is a force to be reckoned with. If you haven’t already, go ahead and succumb to its power!

  1. Disagreed. I notice some of the newer Celine bags are far too similar in design to several iconic Hermes bags (the Birkin, the Constance), which in itself is a turn-off. Also, as with most items, if it’s a celebrity “must-have”, I’m more prone to run in the opposite direction. I’d rather have the original design from Hermes and I’d rather not have the same bag that every girl on the street is wearing.

  2. You know it has reached its saturation when you can get one at TJ Maxx. Saw the large dark green suede one there last wek got $1800.

  3. I have held out until now….I have my name on a wait list for a navy tweed luggage tote…I guess I have been assimilated.

  4. Wow, I love the bag of Miley Cyrus but I would definitely go with a Bebe bag, since its affordable but my heart goes with an Hermes handbag. These bags would surely go well with fashionable recycled clothing.
