Delvaux Ame Libre Bag: Free Love

Can you blame me for loving Delvaux? The almost 200-year-old Belgian brand has the refinement and impeccable quality I crave in my most precious bags. But there’s nothing that looks too precious about Delvaux’s design philosophy; they are longstanding proponents of the minimalist chic that lets strong, simple shapes and lush skins enjoy the spotlight.

This bag may be called the “free spirit,” but it’s here to meet your every need. With modern functionality, you can carry it a number of ways: clutch it, sling it on your shoulder, or wear it crossbody with the adjustable and removable strap. Cleverly devised, the Ame Libre has an almost undetectable “D” logo (now stretched to a subtle new shape) that serves as a handle when flap is open. In easy gray or ivory, you will also be free to wear it with any color of the rainbow. I’ve been buying so many brightly hued clothes and shoes lately, I need the neutrality of these bags. Especially the smoky dove-gray! Available at Delvaux for $1,485 (€1,100).

Pair with: Stay true to laid-back glamour – and add a shot of color – with Giuseppe Zanotti’s ballet flats. Leopard-print pony-hair and candy-red accents is a tireless combo. Available for pre-order at Barneys New York for $595 (expect delivery in July).
