Chanel Démaquillant Yeux Intense Gentle Biphase Eye Makeup Remover: Small Amount, Big Wonder

It’s always nice to get back to basics, especially when it comes to cleansing products. I love Lancôme’s Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover (I’ve been using it for years), but now that I’m in Taiwan, the humidity is making me yearn for something a bit lighter and less oily.

This dual-phase eye makeup remover by Chanel is still an oil- and water-based solution but when applying, you don’t get that oily feel. Most importantly, it takes off heavy liner and waterproof mascara like no other. In the land of overly used fake lashes, a remover like this could save many real ones. This stuff is so effective, I can run a saturated Q-Tip along my lash line where the glue is and voila! That little bit is enough to gently dislodge the glue, so false lashes fall away without pulling and without the risk of yanking off precious real lashes with it. Chanel’s remover also makes it possible to reuse false lashes if you are investing in an expensive pair, like Shu Uemura (which I highly recommend!). At Nordstromicon for $32.
