Oh, Baby Baby! Bag Round-Up

Guest Blog by Emma Abbott

Let me preface this with saying- I’m not pregnant. Mom, save the calls of congrats for somewhere down the line. I do, however, have many friends that are, or have just recently had one (or two) bambinos. One complaint I hear a lot from them is the lack of good looking bags for mom-things. And when I say mom things I mean- breast pump (gasp) diapers (gasp again) and the million other things mama’s need to keep themselves and the family running smoothly. There are many options out there for baby bags but few disguise the functionality of themselves quite like these. I’ve had my fair share of awkward elevator rides with my mama friend when people ask her if she’s going on a trip that day because her bag is so bulky… Awkward. The Burberry ($1595) is a great (yet pricey) choice as it is large enough for your needs but still looks like a posh purse to the untrained un-mom eye. It has a long strap so you can throw it over your shoulder if you need your hands (which what mom doesn’t- and comes with a diaper pocket and even a changing pad. The Kate Spade ($318) will set you back a fraction of the price and has more of a beach-bag feel. It has stroller clips and also comes with a changing pad. The Prada ($1,140) is simple, nylon and black with a changing pad and bottle cover and has a million pockets to stash all your goodies, and also has an adjustable, removable shoulder strap. These choices all will cleverly disguise you from awkward “it’s a breast pump” conversations while keeping your fine self prepared and posh on your adventures in motherhood, and life.
