At the close of her runway show a few months ago, Miuccia said her Fall collection is about “the pleasure of fashion.” Well, few eras gave me as much pleasure as the ‘90s, when Kelly and I met in college and bonded over Prada. (We have blamed Miuccia for our mutual bag obsession that eventually spawned Bagsnob.com.) Now the early-nineties are striking again, with groovy floral-appliqué platforms that speak of old-school funk and a new sense of fun.
I can always count on Miuccia to provide the whimsy for my wardrobe each season. A single statement-making piece is all that’s required when keeping up with current trends, and nothing revs everything up like a new shoe. I’m known to snub any heel under three inches, but the brogues ($1,350) are adorable! But I’ll most likely go with the Mary Jane ($990). The muted shades are less shocking than the lace-up pump’s rich tones ($990) and will go with more things I already own. Just one shoe like this is enough to turn my current pants and dresses on their heads! All available at Bergdorf Goodman.
