Ralph Lauren Collection Haircalf Hobo: The Best of the Ocelot

Consider this bag the spin-off to the ocelot-print shearling coat, a star piece in Ralph Lauren’s dapper boy-meets-flapper girl Fall 2012 collection. Or, like me, consider this bag an even-better substitute to take the coat’s place. I must get my spotty, fuzzy fix with the hobo, since living in LA offers me very little occasion to toss on a big, fur coat – and that’s a-ok because a slouchy yet striking carryall like this is all I need to keep a smile on my face.

I loved Lauren’s oversized hobo from seasons past, and now it’s time for take two. This is one I can – and will! – manage to find strapped across my shoulder. The conforming, fold-over shape allows for a seamless transition from hobo to shoulder bag to cool and hip crossbody. Either way, your arms enjoy freedom and your eyes appreciate ocelot. At Saks Fifth Avenue for $1,950.

Pair with: A luxe animal print will look smart set against faded plum jeans, like Iro’s Jarod cut, cropped just a tad for casual-cool. On Net-a-Porter for $265.
