REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask: Lady Marmalade

A treatment that exfoliates and resurfaces the skin without any sloughing or scrubbing, here’s a mask that’s no muss, no fuss. REN’s Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal mask packs the smooth, effective action of a four-fruit-acid-complex (lactic, glycolic, tartaric and citric). Along with a papain enzyme and Omega 3 and 7 (for exfoliating, reduced redness, and high cell-turnover, respectively), the jelly texture becomes clear as it coats your face. I appreciate that it’s not a total mess to apply, and remove, like so many masks. It smells, and really feels, like orange marmalade (mixed with some potent skin potion), but surprisingly, the concoction just glides right on and rinses with ease. The label suggests you might experience a tingling sensation, but nothing strong enough to make me nervous. Before rinsing, pat your face gently to raise up the dead-skin cells that should be coming off.

After just 10 minutes, my tired skin was instantly freshened and revived, with a hint of new life, and it even felt firmed up. It does warn against those with sensitive skin, so delicate types might want to opt for something gentler (although this is pretty mellow on the face). At Sephora for $55.
