Top 5 New Jackets: Onto the Outerwear

Hugo Boss, Moncler, J.Crew Kids', Hartstrings, Appaman Boys' Jackets

We’ve had an Indian summer but even that has to end, so be prepared and get ready for chills. Our girls have it easy with so many cute jackets available, but all my friends with boys complain about finding hip, cute and practical outerwear. So here are a few at various prices and styles for every type of little man. A list of the best of the best:

1. Hugo Boss Toddler’s & Little Boy’s Nylon Ski Jacket: Definitely the Boss
A classic ski-style with its detachable hood trimmed in faux fur, lots of zippered pockets, and a stand-up collar. Atomic green set against black and white gives it a real kick, and that huge “Hugo Boss” on the sleeve doesn’t hurt!
At Saks Fifth Avenue for $400.

2. Hartstrings Toddler’s & Little Boy’s Chino Twill Jacket: All Cotton, All Purpose

A neutral all-cotton twill jacket is a must have in every little boy’s closet. Versatile and comfy, so you can’t go wrong. The flap pockets, ribbed cuffs and hem, and stand-up collar add to the cool factor. What’s not to like?
At Saks Fifth Avenue for $54.

3. Appaman Racing Jacket: Zoom, Zoom!
Your little guy will feel like Speedracer in this vintage racing jacket in classic blue with mustard yellow panels. With convenient details, like easy-zip pockets, it’s super-practical, while the GT racing logo stamps the seal of coolness!
At Art Bebé for $57 ($76).

4. J.Crew Kids’ K-Way Claude Klassic Jacket: Vive la France!
A completely waterproof, lightweight windbreaker that folds into a small bag with a belt – leave it to a Parisian to come up with this inventive jacket. And you have a choice of navy, purple, yellow, or two neon colors (azalea and clover). It’s simple, practical, and perfect for active boys.
At J.Crew for $45.

5. Moncler Quilted Puffer Contrast Trim Jacket: Puff and Shine
If you want your little guy to make a real impression, this quilted bright red shiney puffer jacket is the one for you (and hopefully your budget). It’s filled with feather and down, so it’s great for cold weather. It has tipping along the cuffs and hem, and of course, the snobby logo on the sleeve.
At Barneys New York for $585.
