Mark Cross Spring 2013 Collection: Scottie Braided Equals Majorly Upgraded

Mark Cross Braided Scottie Bag

My love for Mark Cross grows by the day – and by leaps and bounds with each new season! The latest and greatest from the venerable luxury house has become my most recent obsession: the Braided Scottie bag. We don’t all look good with plaited hair, but Scottie, the quintessential classic American bag, looks divine trimmed in delicate braids. For Spring 2013, this slice of subtle luxuriance is suddenly eons more youthful – without looking trendy. In two sizes – small ($3,750) and large ($4,250) – you don’t have to compromise when it comes to your preference of scale. And in two unexpected colors, it’s thoroughly unique. Mustard may make some heart rates quicken, but I can’t resist the duo of bone gray and gold hardware, a beautiful and understated contrast. Sometimes a braid is all you need for a thrilling new twist.
To be available at Barneys New York.

I can not get a line on this brand. When you introduced us to the re-launch of this brand about two years ago, they were at Saks and all at about $1000 or under. Then, they came out of Saks, moved to Barneys and doubled and tripled in price. Can you give us any insight on the reasons for the drastic price jump? The quality and leathers appear the same.
