Pink Lipstick Trend: I’m a Barbie Girl

Kristen Stewart Pink Lip

Kristen Stewart has been coming out in full-force on the red carpet lately wearing a lot of sheer, sexy pieces, and her newest sheer style is Barbie pink lipstick. For her On the Road premiere, the starlet went sexy ‘60s with cat-eyes and Chanel’s Rouge Coco lipshine in parfait (at Neiman Marcus for $32.50). This is something I can definitely get behind. It’s so fun and girly! But there are pitfalls – you want to look cute, not like a baby stripper. One of Nicki Minaj’s many alter egos is Barbie, so I get that she’s trying to look like a life-size doll, but it’s just not working. Don’t get me wrong – she’s completely badass and I love her. Caked on makeup, a mile-high wig, and bright pink lipstick is just too much, though. Jennifer Lopez is someone else I question wearing baby pink. Sometimes it makes her look youthful and vibrant, and other times, it’s too light against her warm skin. Make sure to match the tone with the rest of your makeup like Whitney Port does. She’s dewy fresh with just a little eyeliner and a summery fishtail! Kate Bosworth knew to keep it natural, too. Her face looks bare yet glowing, letting her feminine updo and gorgeous jewels do all the talking. To get her look with a little (a lot) extra shine, I like Sisley‘s Phyto lip gloss in fuschia (at Bloomingdale’s for $55). You know Barbie is a lip gloss girl, and I am, too!
