Fresh’s New Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream With Super 7

I went to Fresh’s headquarters the other week and met with the founders Lev Glazman and Alina Roytberg…They’re amazing! Not only are they incredibly passionate about their products – in fact I can’t believe how involved they are with their line after 21 years (they are owned by LVMH), but they are also personable and have an incredible depth of knowledge. The intimate event was held to unveil two new products:  Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream With Super 7 Complex ($42) and a new Lip Treatment shade called Sugar Petal ($22.50), which will be launching next month. I had a chance to chat with both Lev and Alina (who incredibly enough actually remembered me form an event almost two years ago…), and I learned some fascinating things including that all of the lip treatments have the exact same amount of pigment. There is only about 20% pigment in all of the brand’s tinted lip treatments, which compares to about 90% in most lipsticks and explains why Fresh’s lip products are so easy to layer and moisturize rather than dehydrate lips. The reason some shades appear to be more pigmented than others is simply because they are darker shades.

New lip shade is a light rose, which layers really well over my favorite shade, Plum.

As for the new face cream, it is incredibly moisturizing. It has a clean, cucumber-like smell, penetrates the skin quickly, and takes skin’s dryness away without feeling too oily. Lev also pointed out that it works fantastic as a base so you could, for example, add in a few drops of Vitamin C, or some kind of other oil if you wanted to add in a particular effect.
