DKNY Fall 2013 Collection: Juxta-Posed

DKNY Fall 2013 Collection

DKNY’s Fall collection, named “Juxta-Posed” by Donna, was chock full of wearable looks with definite edge – for the rock and roll New Yorker. Bulky coats (truly an essential for NYC natives who have to brave these cold and windy streets) and quilted bombers dominated. In spite of the tough chick looks, though, there was no shortage of hot pink. It even made its way onto suit skirts – another on-the-move city girl’s wardrobe necessity. Leave behind boring boardroom suits for these brights! Animal print played a large role, too, especially on the extra-long sweater tunics, but my favorite looks were hands-down the dresses. Whether the fitted camel, black, and white number or the flared gray, these structured, colorblocked designs toed the line perfectly between trendy and timeless. But I saved the best for last – the maxis with billowing trains (omg I’m pre-ordering now!!). With these stunners, lively music, and a fun catwalk, the atmosphere at the show was completely electric. I honestly wanted to get up and dance! Conclusion: DKNY will have an even bigger space in my closet come fall, and I have to think it will in yours, too.
