Eek! Once again Dolce & Gabbana throws good taste out the window in favor of clown couture. Their Miss Dea bag always seem to err on the side of ostentation (imagine this with sequins and floral embroidery), but they’ve taken it even farther here. Calling this a statement clutch is an understatement. The way the tassels are fixed onto the woven bag make it look like a rainbow pompom but in no way does it make me want to cheer (did there really have to be a multi-colored crystal-bejeweled clasp, too??). Raffia played a big role in Dolce & Gabbana’s spring collection, but it was used more traditionally on their other bags. I will admit that something about the tassels intrigues me, though. If I attended a cocktail party at Mardi Gras, this would be perfect. I could carry it as a clutch or throw on the chain strap, and I’d blend right in with the colorful crowd. Available on Net-a-Porter for $1,895.
