I honestly have no idea why I love this Marni bag (I’m actually loving everything Marni lately). It’s basically a mini-leather briefcase with studs and crystals – which sounds pretty unappealing when I put it like that – but the effect is so adorable! Maybe it’s because that squared, flat shape is such a juxtaposition against sparkly embellishments, and the contrast makes it so attractive to me. Opposites attract, and this is a perfect example.
When you’ve got such a structured bag, you should go for even more contrast: choosea loose-fitting dress, like Tibi’s drop-waist shift (on Net-a-Porter for $445) and sexed-up cutout booties, a la Christian Louboutin’s Diptic (on Net-a-Porter for $995). Add my favorite chain-wrap bracelet from Vita Fede (I love this so much I bought one for every single Snob employee for Christmas! At Vita Fede for $225), and this is a perfect transitional look for the season, just the combination to start February off right. At Saks Fifth Avenue for $1,250.
