New York Fashion Week Trend: Winter Booties

New York Fashion Week Trend

A blizzard in the middle of Fashion Week didn’t deter us from wearing cute shoes on the streets of NYC. Nemo came, but he didn’t conquer. Open toe sandals aside, the fashion bunch stayed stylish and warm. Marie Claire caught me high and dry in my Victorian-inspired Alexander McQueen lace booties (as you can see, function took a backseat to fashion – I just had to do a little extra puddle-jumping). Other street styles captured, like those gorgeously ornate gold heels, also went all in. But if you’re looking for some more comfortable booties that will transition well into the spring, look no further than NET-A-PORTER. Reed Krakoff’s two-tone ankle boots ($650) give you the height you crave without the drama of painful strutting, while Rag & Bone’s metallic ankle boots ($550) are high-shine stunners ready to take on warm jeans or a warm weather floral mini with equal panache. Wear them now, wear them later, wear them out!
