I despise this kind of heel – short, chunky, and generally unflattering on anyone under 5’7″. It’s great that Nicholas Kirkwood took on a challenge, but there’s a reason mid-height heels (especially block-shaped ones) aren’t strutting around town everyday. I’m torn, though, because I’m completely enamored with the graphic zigzag pattern, a stylish nod to the ‘60s. The black and white is on trend, but the little slice of neon heaven on the pink and yellow pair is surprisingly enviable, too. Nicholas (who just won the Vogue Fashion Fund award) said he was thinking about the shape and form of waves when he designed the collection. These are some pretty choppy waves, but I’m ready to dive right in! Or at least I would have been had they splashed onto a sexier heel. Available at Nicholas Kirkwood.
