When I told my graphics assistant Kristtian C. that I would be in Puerto Rico this week (I’m still here having the time of my life!), he suggested that I visit the Cappalli boutique. All I have to say is thank you, Kristtian! The lounge-style boutique is a treasure trove filled with one-of-a-kind pieces that are native-inspired, yet completely modern. Everything here is perfectly in line with the relaxed island vibe from the wispy, feminine clothes to the bright, airy store. I love discovering local designers in my travels, and Lisa Cappalli is a rare find with fashion running rampant through her veins (her mother and aunt were designers). Decorative lace embroidery and linen with flirty fringes and florals are her calling cards, so to toughen up the looks, wear them with distressed jeans or a studded bag. And if you’re not going to be in Old San Juan anytime soon, fret not – Lisa has an e-boutique in the works. Check out her website for more info!
