Tastemaker, fashion editor, designer, model, and business savant: if this sounds like too many roles for one woman to take on without losing her cool – or her Choos – think again. Caroline Issa, the globetrotting wonder-woman and Executive Fashion Director of TANK Magazine (where high-art meets high fashion), makes it all look easy.
With a degree from Wharton, she made the move from jet-setting business advisor to the forefront of the fashion industry. In between designing – we love her new collection for LK Bennett, a must for the summer season – and acting as the Editor-in-Chief of Because magazine, a digital startup, the glamorous multi-tasker is constantly getting snapped by street photographers, thanks to her awe-striking personal style (think bold colors and a fearless blends of Paul Smith, Kenzo, Equipment, and J.Crew). Now the exotic beauty and former model shares her Five Essential bags:
New bag brand Baraboux is all about multi-function. There are removable pouches within these bags, which I love. I can keep my passport and coins in the small purse, and remove them easily from the larger tote. Love that idea. The Nahar is what I’m using.
Victorinox suitcases are so lightweight, but they’re built like Teflon! Amazing!
Myriam Schaefer bags: beautifully crafted and structured, through and through. She was the design talent behind Balenciaga’s bag moneymaker, and her own brand is quiet, strong and gorgeous. Love them all. Mine is the black bowler bag with stripes.
This M2Malletier white clutch is my new go-to. Melissa, from Spain, creates beautifully chic and simple bags with amazing hardware. I always get stopped on the street and asked where my bag is from when I’m wearing it!
This Anndra Neen silver clutch is like a piece of jewelry and a sculpture at the same time. I love how beautiful and unique these clutches (and amazing ladies) are.
