I have great style expectations of a fashion awards show, and last night’s CFDAs did not disappoint! Council President Diane von Furstenberg (aka the diva of all divas) embraced the Art Deco trend with a white cutout dress and her stunning Diamond Box Beaded Clutch (at DVF for $995). The best dressed of the night had to be Linda Evangelista, though. She was the Black Swan incarnate in a tiered Oscar de la Renta gown, sporting a tight ballerina bun and jet black Reece Hudson clutch. The girls of Marchesa also rose to the challenge, donning their own gorgeous dresses and jewel clutches (it’s like getting two birds with one gemstone!). Most Snobs went with this ultra-elegant look – Hilary Rhoda‘s minimalist black and white Helmut Lang being a favorite – but Jess Stam embraced her wild side with a neon peplum Rebecca Minkoff dress and a sick Charlotte Olympia pink Pandora (on Charlotte Olympia for $1,495). I’m obsessed with this clutch – punk is my thing. The safety-pinned collaboration with Tom Binns is just another example of how bags and jewels can become one glam little package – the perfect reminder that even on a special night like this, fashion should always be fun!
