Top 5 Wildest Shoes: A Day at the Circus

Top 5 Wildest Shoes

Sometimes great designers do terrible things, and all you can do is stand back in shock and awe. After all, when the inspiration for shoes is a cartoon character or a clown, you know it’s not going to turn out too well. Wanting attention is one thing – getting ridicule is another. Which of these circus acts needs to be booed off the stage the fastest? Available at Neiman Marcus.

Fendi V-Neck Fur Ankle Boot ($1,700): We’ve said that animal-printed calf hair will be big this fall, but not these Fendis! Zebra stripes, neon mink, geometric heels – how much ugly can one shoe handle?

Charlotte Olympia Puss in Boots Embroidered Velvet Ankle Boot ($895): It must be true that cats have nine lives because we’ve seen Olympia’s famous kitty flats a few times before. Sadly, this puss should not be in boots (please observe the patent leather tail at the back).

Alexander McQueen Studded Cutout Platform Ankle Bootie ($2,795): These are probably the least offensive of the bunch, which is no compliment. They’re a little heavy (a lot heavy) on the studding.

Charlotte Olympia On Time Clock Face Suede Ankle Boot ($1,595): Of course, Olympia has landed on the list twice. These may be on time, but they’re certainly not on trend.

Tom Ford Geometric Patchwork Fur Over-the-Knee Boot ($3,775): It turns out Tom Ford actually can do wrong. I wouldn’t even break these out for Halloween.
