Forty Five Ten and China Chow Fete Derek Lam: A Match Made in Snob Heaven

When: Friday, October 25th from 4-6pm
Where: Forty Five Ten at 4510 McKinney Avenue

Calling all my Dallas-based Snobs! This Friday, two of my favorite people are coming together at one of my favorite stores. The lovely China Chow is co-hosting a champagne-filled soiree at Forty Five Tenicon honoring the equally lovely Derek Lam. Not only will you get to meet one of the best American designers of our time, you’ll get a personal look at his Spring 2014 runway collection, and it’s all thanks to the superpower behind the chicest boutique in the southwest – Forty Five Ten’s co-owner Brian Bolke!

It’s only natural to wear Derek Lam – and if you can’t make it to Forty Five Ten, it’s a great excuse to stock up on some of his key fall pieces! For an unexpected amalgam of textures, try his tartan-plaid moto jacket, a brilliant take on this season’s hottest print, layered over his paneled lace blouse with the wear-with-everything legging trousers. Or choose among two of my favorite little dresses of the season: the red silk round-neck shift, which will make you want to trade in your old LBD, or the cotton-weave panel dress, colorblocked to perfection. Simple and feminine, unique and inspired: it’s all in Derek’s mix.

Derek Lam Moto Jacket, $775, Paneled Lace Blouse, $1,570, Legging Trouser, $369, Round Neck Dress, $880, and Bicolored Panel Dress, and Givenchy bootsicon, $1,150, on Farfetch.
