Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Mascara

Benefit Cosmetics They're Real! Mascara

Nothing goes on as smooth as Tom Ford or Chantecaille’s mascaras, but they’re not the most budget friendly at 40-plus dollars. Dior, Lancôme, Estée Lauder also all make great ones, but for $23 I think Benefit‘s They’re Real! mascaraicon is one of the best buys for a clump free, yet lush application. It’s a deep black that gives both length and volume without smudging (even after eight hours). It also doesn’t dry up like some formulas do, which is not only visually a problem, but causes breakage when you remove the mascara. In fact this formula glides off with makeup remover as easy as it glides on and the unique brush head insures that even small lashes get coated with color.

  1. I agree, but I have to wonder; how do you prevent racoon eyes with this brand? I love the length and seperation They’re Real! gives me, but I always end up with raccoon eyes by mid-work day. I have actually taken to using Clinque’s High Impact Mascara which I find very similar.

  2. This one takes every bit of curl from my lashes and points them straight down. My lashes look long for the two seconds before they droop.

    1. I agree; They’re Real makes my lashed straighten right out. I’ve tried to re-curl my lashes after they’re dry, but it’s like glue on my curler and they get all messed up. I’m going right back to my Maybeline Colossal in the waterproof formula; it is the best mascara I’ve found to hold the curl and stays on all day. If you have any suggestions for my problem with They’re Real, please email me at annekapinus@gmail.com.
