Jimmy Choo Ally Shoulder Bag: Ally or Nothing

JimmyChoo_Black

The Ally shoulder hits all the right notes. It’s simultaneously striking and chic yet totally restrained. I really have nothing bad to say about it, which is a great feat for Jimmy Choo. Their bags have a habit of alternating between rather ridiculous and just about perfect. In case you couldn’t tell, this one falls right to the top of the latter category, especially in stunning winter-white.

The subtle details do all the work: a vaguely asymmetrical flap to keep it from looking too prim and perfect, the handcuff-inspired partial-chain strap, and the hardware at the corners, just enough to catch some light. Combined with a well-measured dose of slouch, it all adds up to lust-worthy. Black leather is a no-fail (especially for a significantly lower price point), but it’s the snowy white calf hair that’s truly amazing – and ideal for perking you up in the dead of winter. Available in white calf hair on My Theresa, $2,895, and black leather on Farfetch, $1,819.

Pair with: Give the season a shake-up with shorts. Layer Michael Kors’ silk and wool-blend shantung shorts over opaque tights for en evening twist. On NET-A-PORTER for $695.
