TOMS Marketplace: Look Good, Feel Better

Toms_Marketplace

The  socially-conscious shoe/eye-wear company TOMS just became a one-stop shop for the holidays by launching “The Marketplace,” an online store that features other brands like TOMS that give back while offering a quality product.

Over 200 products from 30 different companies are featured on the site with everything from bags and jewelry to technology products.  The site’s aim is to give other social entrepreneurs a platform to succeed in making a difference. If you want to feel good while giving gifts this year, head over to the giving guide for some help! Here are a few ideas for everyone on your list:

1) stone + cloth Backpack ($68): stone + cloth is a line of backpacks and accessories that traces its origin back to a mountain-climbing expedition in Tanzania. Made in Los Angeles, each item helps fund education for children in East Africa.

2) Fortuned Culture Bronze Arrow Bracelet ($45): Based in Los Angeles with a global mission, Fortuned Culture is a jewelry line rooted in social responsibility and giving. Partnering with charities in Ethiopia and Mexico, it helps children on two continents.

3) Della Rudy iPad Case ($38): Manufacturing bags, cases and accessories with locally sourced textiles, Della is a fashion line that employs 55 individuals in Hohoe, Ghana, while also providing literacy classes and money-management training.

4) Same Sky Silver Faith Cuff Links ($100): Through its line of jewelry, Same Sky provides jobs to women living with HIV/AIDS in Rwanda. By providing individuals with marketable skills and above-average wages, Same Sky helps them rebuild their lives.
