I’ve stayed at some truly amazing places over the years, but nothing compares to Banyan Tree Samui. It is considered the most luxurious resort on the island – if not in all of Thailand – and for good reason. Every room comes with its own infinity pool, in addition to sprawling living quarters. Unsurprisingly, their spa was equally luxurious. I had a huge treatment room – it even had its own outdoor hot tub! I indulged myself in a 90-minute massage and scrub that was quite possibly the best one I’ve ever had. It began with an elaborate foot treatment in which my feet were soaked and scrubbed in fragranced water dotted with flower petals, and ended with a calming tea. My friend’s treatment was more out of the box and utilized the hot tub, it also included a facial and a scrub in a shower…she also agreed that it was one of the best treatments she’s ever had. The day after we went to Vana Belle, the island’s other luxury resort. There too the treatment rooms were stunning, and the service was impeccable. When we walked in a woman opened an umbrella to take us to the treatment rooms so as to protect our skin from the sun! I can’t stress enough how stunning these two resorts are. If you are looking to splurge on a getaway with a girlfriend or your significant other, Koh Samui is hard to beat!
