Noni Juice: The Good-For-You Drink You’re Probably Not Drinking…Yet

When I heard that Miranda Kerr swears by noni for her flawless complexion, and that Dr. Oz endorsed it, I immediately logged onto my computer and ordered some of this mysterious juice. Noni Juice ($25.49) is a fruit-derived drink (make sure you only buy 100% noni), that helps with everything from dry skin and frizzy hair to fighting off cancer and diabetes with its potent mix of vitamins and minerals. It’s considerably more expensive than your run-of-the-mill juice, which is why I’m guessing it has not yet been adopted by the likes of Juice Press, but you can add it to just about anything and still get its benefits. The key is to drink it every day and at least 2 to 4 ounces of it. I’ve never actually seen a noni fruit in the flesh (and here I thought Whole Foods had everything!), but apparently it’s called the cheese fruit and once you try its juice you’ll understand why. Noni – a Tahitian remedy – does not smell or taste great. In fact it tastes pretty much like cheese, which is why it’s better to mix it in with a smoothie. The more you drink it, the more you get used it to it, though. A few years ago it was such a struggle for me to drink a juice with beets, cayenne, or ginger. Now, while I still don’t love them, they’re easy for me to get down.

We have so much control over our health via what we eat and drink and while I’ll never give up my carbs and chocolate, adding this to my diet – and I’ll admit with all my traveling I haven’t been the best about it – has been a great way to boost my well-being. I’m not saying this will cure cancer, but drinking 2 oz. of this for about three weeks helped smooth out my dry flaky skin and that’s saying a lot this time of year!

DO YOU LOVE IT OR HATE IT?
