Loewe Origami Bag: Ebb and Fold

Loewe_Oragami_Bag

In time for Spring 2014, Loewe is reissuing their brilliant Origami bag. Get ready for four new colors this month (light blue, navy, raspberry, and light sand), and look forward to five more shades hitting shelves in June (red, dusty rose, cognac, bronze, and black).

Originally designed to serve as an economic exchange between Spain and Japan, the limited-edition Origami Collection was introduced at an exhibit just over a year ago. Now they are re-launching the collapsible, foldable tote in two sizes.

Obviously, I need the larger version – this is the best bag for travel. Just to prove it, I’m deeming the Origami my “It” bag for Fashion Week. Not only will it easily hold all my extra shoes (flats are a must for running between shows) and cold-weather gear, it collapses completely flat, without doing any damage to the soft, delicate leather.

With the Origami, Stuart Vevers leaves behind the most ingenious design from his tenure at Loewe. No big surprise it’s been resurrected. Maybe Loewe is missing him, but it’s more likely because this is a very smart bag, sure to become a true staple for the brand. Available for pre-order from $1,495 – $2,150 at Bergdorf Goodmanicon.
