Scratch & Grain: Easy-to-Make Portion-Controlled Cookie Kits

carousel-item-1

Scratch & Grain is one of the cutest food related products I’ve seen in awhile. I’m not a big cook or baker, but I do love making fresh cookies (especially when I’m invited over to a friend’s house)…except I’m usually too time-crunched to make them from scratch so I buy cookie dough. The problem? I usually end up eating the raw cookie dough before I even have the chance to make a single cookie – pouf 1,000 calories!!!

Scratch & Grain offers an alternative with their kits, which come in a variety of flavors ranging from chocolate truffle to snicker doodle. All the ingredients are pre-portioned out and easy to recognize (no funky preservatives here). You just have to add in eggs and butter to their individually packaged, mostly organic ingredients. This not only allows for portion control, but it prevents anyone who is like me from eating the dough raw because it’s just there starring at you in a tube! Like I said I love bringing cookies over when I’m heading to see friends, but these kits also make great hostess gifts (they retail all around the country for less than $10).

  1. Sorry, I see more packaging and waste that is unnecessary and creates more trash. Buy flour, sugar, etc, and make cookies from scratch (which will save money too). This is just laziness…if one really doesn’t have time to bake, then pick up cookies or cake from a local bakery to take as a gift.
