Classy Cropped Dressing: Made in Maiyet

Maiyet Two Piece Outfit

How does a Snob in her forties tackle the crop-top trend? If your answer is avoid it entirely, you’re dead wrong! It’s just a matter of making sure you looked pulled together and executing a wise way with proportion play. A monochromatic three-piece ensemble is a chic nod to this season’s cropped trend without bordering onto tacky territory.

I generally don’t wear one designer from head to toe as a rule, but when Maiyet hits the look so well, why wouldn’t I go for it? Their handwoven metallic jacquard bralette ($295), soft pleat shorts ($495), and long, ample crossover vest ($1,695) make for a flawless trio with the right amount of coverage.

I chose a chunky, stacked sandal to ensure a casual look, courtesy of Lanvin’s two-tone banded sandal ($845), or you can dress the ensemble up on balmy summer nights with a higher heel, as I did below for a photo shoot. Earthy-luxe jewels from The Woods and Maiyet’s ostrich-leg and calfskin satchel ($3,200) with a splash of metallic flair complete my summer in Capri outfit. Ciao!

Bralette, shorts, and vest available at Maiyet. Lanvin sandalsicon and Maiyet satchel available at Barneys New York.
