Tom Ford Lip Color Sheer Collection

Tom Ford has just launched eight new limited edition lipsticks for spring, and they come packaged in his original white and gold cases. So psyched these are back!! Especially now that the warmer weather is coming…how chic to pull out one of these lipsticks from your purse? The collection of lip shades is called Tom Ford Lip Color Sheer and retails for $49 each. Unlike what the name might lead you to believe, the shades aren’t actually all that sheer. At least in my head I had imagined gloss-like coverage. Women don’t seem to mind. Three out of the eight shades were already sold out when I went to check out the collection, and I hear it’s the same at other beauty counters/Tom Ford boutiques.

I’m not big on lipsticks, but Tom Ford’s are so weightless, moisturizing and smell delicious (his new collection has Ford’s signature vanilla scent) that they make a very convincing case to ditch lip balm. They also last forever – I’m talking 9-5, and that’s with drinking a few water bottles a day – but somehow the texture never gets chalky or sticky. The lipsticks also don’t have much of a “taste,” even though they have a vanilla scent. Again, the shades are fairly opaque, have a lightweight and luminous finish (though from the ones I tried they look more shimmery in the tube than on lips) that makes them perfect for spring/summer, and come in a wide range that includes a fuchsia (Called Incorrigible! This one is my favorite, which is ironic because it looks almost Barbie-like in the tube. I tried it on 1/2 as a joke, only to discover it was my favorite!), an orange-red, and a couple of nude variations.
