Moynat Comes Stateside: From Paris, With Love

Moynat Comes Stateside

On April 24th, Moynat made its stateside debut at Dover Street Market New York. It’s hard to believe that while Moynat was founded in 1849 (right in time with the onset of railroad travel), this marks the launch of the Parisian house’s first store in the U.S. The must-see shop will be carrying a selection of Moynat’s most classic styles, along with several exclusive pieces made especially for the occasion.

The revival of this legendary company is epic, at a time when this level of craftsmanship is no longer the industry standard but an elusive ideal. From the highly versatile Quattro Reversible shopper tote ($3,115) to the smaller TPM version ($2,875) to the elegant Rejane clutch ($4,715), these are the pieces to invest in with confidence and cherish for ages. While classicism and quality are Moynat’s cornerstones, they’re fit for the modern world. Think incredibly refined and undeniably old-school yet easy and versatile.

They even create custom designs, like this macaroon case for the serious sweets connoisseur. Creative Director Ramesh Nair wanted to pay tribute to one of France’s most loved desserts and voila! – a trunk as fabulous as it is indulgent. I can’t wait to go to Dover Street and check out the collection next week when I’m in New York.
