Viktor and Rolf Structured Tote: The Avant Guard

Viktor and Rolf Structured Tote

I’m so excited to see this off-the-runway power piece hit the shelves. Viktor and Rolf’s edgy tote is one of those rare finds where the level of function is equal to the high level of fashion.

You can always count on Amsterdam’s most visionary duo to deliver a high dose of avant-garde, but it’s when Horsting and Snoeren imbue their innately otherworldly vision with approachability that the results really work for me. I’ve always said hardware is the key to a winning tote and nothing speaks to that argument more than this crazy-cool bag. The basic shape of the tote is nothing revolutionary by any means, but add that offbeat hexagonal handle and everything changes. Besides, a daily staple in subtle python skin is understated and decadent.

Slightly futuristic and entirely too cool for school, it manages to avoid crossing the line into obscure novelty, thanks to the overall simplicity. This is a collector’s item that will be just as exciting 20 years from now as it is today, and in matte-black python, it is a true investment piece. Viktor and Rolf tote on Farfetch for $5,590.

Pair with: At first glance, it looks like Saint Laurent’s mohair crew sweater is standard old leopard print, but it’s set in a flirty pattern of abstract hearts – so much cuter! At MATCHESFASHION.COM for $811.
